ESC Pulse Article: Eurovision 2021 Semi 1 Predictions

Happy Eurovision week! The day has come to make our predictions for how we think the first semi-final will turn out later tonight…

Full disclaimer, we intended to do this as a YouTube live stream with the audio going out as a podcast, but technical issues have prevented us from doing that, so we’ve whipped up this last-minute article to help give a brief illustration of what the team have predicted.

Neither of us has access to the press feed, so our predictions are based on official footage released by the EBU.

Neither of us are very confident with our predictions, and we’re going in with the mindset that anything can still happen. That being said, here is a nifty graphic listing our predictions in running order, except those in which we have a disagreement with will be at the bottom:

As you can see, both of us agree on eight qualifiers and disagree on two. They both agree on Lithuania, Russia, Sweden, Cyprus, Belgium, Romania, Ukraine and Malta. In addition, Kylie says Norway and Israel while John says Ireland and Azerbaijan. Who will be the more accurate? Time will tell…
