The first of five shows reviewing the songs competing in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. This week, we have Ann Squires of ESC Armchair joining us as our first special guest judge as we look at the songs in the first half of Semi-final 1.
We also take time to pay tribute to both Katie Boyle and Lys Assia after their recent passing.
The team discuss the chosen songs in Belarus and Montenegro, and are faced with this year’s big SUPER SATURDAY with finals in… *inhales* Serbia, Germany, Armenia, Hungary, Latvia, Ukraine, Slovenia, Moldova and Romania.
There’s also the usual weekly news update, the ESC Prediction Head-To-Head, and we answer listeners’ questions.
The team are joined by previous guest Elliot from Eurovoxx to give an insight of the UK’s national final. They also discuss the chosen songs from Denmark and Italy, semi-finals in Latvia, Ukraine and Romania, and preview national finals in Belarus, and (very briefly) Montenegro.
There’s also the usual weekly news update and the ESC Prediction Head-To-Head.
The team are joined by past guest and actual Portuguese person Rui (aka LA Boy 456) to discuss Portugal’s history in Eurovision and we count down who the listeners voted as their favourite Portuguese entries.
National final season is back! The team discuss the outcome of Festivali i Këngës 56 and all the internally selected artists so far, as well as the branding and stage design for Lisbon 2018. We also have a new head-to-head competition between the team members, and we try something a little different involving some Eurovision hot takes.
