Hi,
Love this podcast but has an Hardcore ABBA fan : HOW DARE you don’t like “Knowing Me, Knowing You” (Ah Aaaah ^^) and SOS ?!?!?! ;o)
Considered for many as one of the (if not THE) best pop songs ever written to quote Oliver Costello, Pete Townshend and John Lennon.
About the “Ah Aaaah’s” here is a funny quote of Benny : For the preview of Mamma-Mia the Musical they took out the “Ah aaah’s” and when it came to the “Ah Aaaah’s” part, all the audience went “Ah Aaaah”, so they put them back ^^
And yes, there are only a few songs that are not “good” (their pre-Waterloo album) but 95% of their catalogue is SO Good and still fresh 40 years later !!
About Does Your Mother Know, its such high ranking, I think it is due to Mamma Mia the Movie (one of the few parts of the movie I like otherwise I don’t like that much the movie YUK ^^) but as an ABBA song it’s not one of their best. But with some other songs like “Hole in your Soul”, it sound MUCH better live, as a rock song it is made for Live and the live version is excellent !
To conclude Good Top 20 dispite I have many different ones in my Top 20 even if it is SO difficult to do a Top 20 ABBA songs.
Nice to hear other songs than the Gold album (this album is too big, it over shadow the Original Albums which are Excellent and deserve to be in the TOP 100 lists of the Best Albums)
